This is our 8th week on the road, our 11th state and over 7,600 miles.
We are slowly unraveling the tangled highways of my country. Each day is new, and each state gradually different as we move between landscapes and seasons.
When the weather is good and we can camp somewhere, mornings like this make me pause and appreciate the journey we’re on. Even though we didn’t set out with a route in mind, without a purpose or questions we were seeking to have answered, the trip is taking shape as the miles unfurl behind us.
It’s like this: county lines and campgrounds, national parks and small pockets of wilderness, it’s us feeling wild and young in sharp bursts.
